I don't know how many of you are aware of what is happening under our noses but if you are concerned about yet another basic human right being taken away, then please take action.

In August this year, 75% of vitamins and minerals found in some 5000 products currently sold in UK health stores and via practitioners will be banned. This decision has come from the EU and our government agreed to it over a year ago.

A number of health practitioners, nutritional supplement manufacturers and health food distributors have joined together to challenge this EU Directive in the European Court in Luxembourg as it takes away our human right to choose what supplements we consume. The challenge will be heard on Tuesday 25th January ( see more at Alliance for Natural Health (http://www.alliance-natural-health.org/index.cfm?action=home)).

Also on Tuesday, Conservative MP Chris Grayling and Labour MP Kate Hoey will lead a cross-Party effort to force the Government to renegotiate the Directive and end this threat to most bioavailable forms of vitamins and minerals in the UK.

The Opposition have given up half a day of the time allocated to them for this debate, and it will provide an opportunity for MPs to vote against the Directive and to instruct the Government to go back to Brussels and renegotiate its provisions.

Our food today has far fewer nutrients than it had 50 years ago due to intensive farming methods, long transportation and storage periods, and the use of artficial fertilisers and pesticides. To stay healthy, everyone needs some form of nutritional supplement, especially when we are under stress, but many of these will not be around, despite the ever-growing evidence to show that they help.

If you value your health, please consider helping by e-mailing your local MP. Information about this can be found at

:angry-smiley-005: Ok, this is just crazy! What is their problem, i mean, even it they dont do anything, why should they want to ban people from buying vitamin supplements, surely it is up to us how we spend our money!!!

I don't personally take any vitamins anymore, but my daughter does, and i really do think it helps, she is rarely ill, and if she does get a cold or anything, it is usually over and forgotten within a couple of days, she is a very healthy 5 and a half year old!

Again, some bod in higher places thinks he can play god and tell us what we can and cannot not do to our bodies......................what is the world coming to???
