Kate .... where are you?

Katiequiggle is our resident expert, I think. I keep telling my friend to get his site sorted as he has some great stuff at fab prices.

In W H Smith they have a childrens craft section and have boxes of card making stuff for children. Maybe it would be worth getting one of those to start with?

Most beginner card makers need just the basics....like card stock and envelopes..... and then you need to decide what kind of things you want to decorate your cards with ..... I started out with stickers and shapes.....then as I progressed I discovered stamping on cards...and I haven't looked back.

ebay and online shopping is lots of fun and great for ideas.....do a google search on card making and you will prob come across a tonne of websites for card makers......HTH

The Works {bookshop} is good for craft stuff, especially blank cards {50 for £7.99 or 2 packs for £9.99} I also bought some beautiful coloured wrapping paper from there the other day 5 sheets for £1 which can be used as backing paper for designs. They are also selling kits to make cards with all the bits included. Studio cards do kits and other craft stuff and you don't need an account to shop from them.

Just got an Argos supplement and they are offering 200 assorted pastel plain cards or 200 assorted premium cards for £14.99 -saving £5. Just wish I read it whilst I was IN town this morning :fryingpan:

i started card making a couple of months ago. i started of buying a pack of plain cards from hobbycraft they were on offer for 5.99 for 50 and a pack of mixed handmade papers. I then hunted my loft and found all the cards that i had been storing for yeas. I am now hooked. I have started buying all my bits from a site called mad about cards but you do need to spend a min of £15 to place an order. Which is not hard to do once you get into card making. My daughter who has special needs helps me and she loves it.carolynmk
