Need ya help....

Im not a wahm but am hopeing that you might be able to help me-me n dp are trying to set up a website to put our photos onto-a front page then if you click on portrait link it takes you to the portraits,landscape takes you there etc itms.

We have had a go but got nowere fast so as I know most if not all of you have your own websites I was wondering how do you do it and were on earth do you start?We have been trying to do it useing Front Page 2003.

Any help would be wonderful.

You want to click on the word protrait and open up the whole list of pictures?!!

you need to select the word you want to use as a link, then right click, on the options at the bottom it will say Hyperlink, click on that and you will get a little box come up giving you a list of pages you have, or you can enter a url

Does that help at all??

First of all can I recommend a free program which I find much easier than Front page, 1st page 2000.

Second I think the easiest way is to set up a page with all the portraits (or all the portraits that you want to see at one time IYSWIM), lets call it port.html

Assuming that you want to link to in from a section in your front page witha a pic called xmas2004.jpg and that the port.html is in the same folder as your main page, what you would need to put is:

xmas2004.jpg (port.html)

to do it 'properly', with word tags that show up before the xmas picture loads and using good practice it would be:

xmas2004.jpg click here for portraits (port.html)

with this the wording whihc appears instead of the pic. is having a great time at xmas 2004; the words click here for portraits woudl appear to the right of the photo, and the sizes mean that the page layout is ok whoile the pic is loading, rather than being beggard about befor eth receiveing pc knows what size the photo is IYSWIM (by the way do adjust the size to your photo!)

mariesmummy that sounds along the lines of one of the things he needs help on so if I copy n paste this and he needs any more advise hope its ok but il pm you n ask.

Frontpage 200 in easy steps, but if you look in the computer section theres probably going to be Frontpage for dummies and other ones too !!

NIice to know that I am not the only one who likes it -0 especially as it has 4 levels from easy to hardcore so it only gives you the help that you want!

(no I haven't made it on to hardcore yet :lol: )

I used it to do an NCT site for my local branch which is currently being assessed so :crossfingers:
