I've not seen it or heard the soundtrack - but have heard of it, iykwim.

Is the film worth seeing? or should I try and see a stage version?

the stage version is a must, but the film is really good too - but be warned it is all singing apart from very little spoken text which are in fact lyrics from the songs which have been cut or shortened!! (sorry love it to bits!!) it is really emotional, and although it has been given a 12 i wouldnt take a 12 year old to see it, there is quite a lot of swearing and it deals with loads and loads of really big "issues" - aids, drugs, lesbians, homosexuals, transvestites, eviction etc etc etc but it is FAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My sister and mum went to see it on Broadway, Grainne loved it and bought the soundtrack. It's her favourite musical.
