Breastfeeding Wrap launches this week in the UK in order to give nursing mothers the privacy they need in public.
There is no doubt that in the UK breastfeeding is once again rising in popularity, but there are few options for fashion-conscious, modest mums on the move, until now.
Having proven to be a massive success in the USA, mums wanting to retain their privacy, breastfeed in public and still remain stylish can now do so with the Breastfeeding Wrap that is available for the first time in the United Kingdom from bespoke gift retailer www.bitsnstuff.co.uk (http://www.bitsnstuff.co.uk/).
Bitsnstuff is now one of the UK’s most well-recognised brands when it comes to finding bespoke and unique gifts and will be launching the Breastfeeding Wrap with a comprehensive UK marketing campaign.
To mark the exclusive launch, the Breastfeeding Wrap will be available at a discounted price of £23.99 instead of its usual price of £29.99 from the www.bitsnstuff.co.uk (http://www.bitsnstuff.co.uk/) website.
The Breastfeeding Wrap was designed by a mother of four, for mums who want privacy and comfort while breastfeeding in public. Unlike using a less secure and unfashionable blanket, the Breastfeeding Wrap offers complete coverage and removes the fear that at any moment the cover could slip away. This elegant wrap is available in a wide range of colours to compliment any wardrobe.
Kate Sleep is the managing director of Bitsnstuff and she commented, “As a busy mother of one with another on the way, I am excited to be bringing this product to the UK market and know just how much it will help to encourage other mums to carry on breast feeding in public”.
She continued, “I had to work hard to secure exclusive UK rights to this product due to a number of other UK businesses being keen to replicate the product’s success in the USA, over here. This is now proving to be a good move for the business, as we have already had enquiries from larger retail outlets wishing to discuss wholesaling opportunities, even before going public with our launch”.
The Breastfeeding Wrap has been designed to suit both mother and baby alike and is subtle and stylish for mum, yet comfortable and practical for baby. Made of 100% combed cotton the Breastfeeding Wrap is lightweight and breathable. The Wrap is compact enough to fit in a handbag or nappy changing bag, no awkward straps or buckles, so that mum can just slip it on and breastfeed confidently and in style.
Why not give us your feedback on this product - please note that quotes may be used for marketing purposes. All those participating will have the chance to win a wrap in a colour of their choice. Just leave your comments on this product on this thread. A winner will be selected in three weeks time. This product is currently £23.99 as a special introduction price, but will increase to £29.99.

nice but I personally think it wouldn't be so nice for the baby and suggests that bf is something that has to be hidden away. I can see that it may help some mums but I don't think women should be pressurised into covering up baby to feed in public, it is possible to feed i public without geting your boobs out I did it on many occassions.
All the best with your new product

I think the idea is that it can be discreet for those that do feel awkward feeding in public - I know I certainly did.

I only fed in public in places I felt comfortable to do so - ie mums and tots group, baby clinic etc.
I think something like the wrap is a great idea.
Not sure on colour choice - they are all fairly neutral - would probably opt for black, hoping it was a more practical choice, but on the other hand, cream may be a better match for baby sick ....!

seems a good idea even though it looks like they are hiding the baby, just realised you are right netty, i chose black but cream would hide the baby sick more

i think they are fab, i couldnt ever bf eiother, but i know i would have had one of these even for bottle feeding on chillier days and to "snuggle" with baby!!
I would opt for the pink, black or cream... not brown!!
Think they are fab!!! will point my little sis in this direction!!

my first reaction was they seem like a great idea, look quite stylish although not much of a colour range (a sky blue one would be nice). Won't the baby get hot in there though??

What a great idea, I always breastfed in public but was always very discreet.

I know they say it's for modest mums, but it does risk sending the message out that breast feeding should be covered up

No I dont think so and I do think there is definitely a lot of mums that would welcome something like this - I know I would have done.

yes it sounds more discreet, i was sick of the comments about how digusting it was when i was bf dd in public

i think it is fab, and i know loads of mums who would have loved and would love something like this. Loads of mums who i talk to hate bf in public for the looks and comments that they get off others...

I'm sure there are plenty of mums who'll want something like this, but as wokkies and smirnoff have just confirmed, there is still a bias against public breast feeding, and there shouldn't be.
I suppose from the other point of view, if it encourages more women to breast feed it will be great, I'm a firm believer in breast feeding being better for the baby!

I think it is a great idea especially for mums who are shy or lack the confidence to bf in public

when i had ds...when i first took him out and got a taxi back, i was so embarrassed about breast feeding him in the cab, i let him cry all the way home!...but since then i fed him where ever and when ever he needed feeding...and i done the same with dd...if they are hungry, they gotta be fed!

There is a petition online somewhere to sign to make it illegal to stop women breastfeeding in public, it's illegal in scotland. I'm going out now but I'll see if I can find it when I get back.

why would they make it illegal?? it's the natural way of feeding your baby

Would agree - cream is better match for baby sick and also any leakages of breast milk - doesn't look so obvious on light coloured material :happy72:

I think it's a brilliant idea. I was really uncomfortable about the thought of bf in public (I even pulled the curtains round to bf in hospital) mainly because of issues with my body so something like this would have been perfect.
I find it horrific that mums are expected to feed their babies in toilets or beside bins full of dirty nappies so that other people can feel comfortable. How would they like to have to feed in those places? It's unhygenic, they smell and I doubt very much that they would enjoy it so why force it on a baby and it's mother. Sorry, rant over! "Soapbox"

The petition is to make it illegal to stop people breastfeeding in public, which is in favour of breastfeeding in public. I will start another thread though as Toni quite rightly pointed out that this thread is about the capes.

I think this is a great idea seeing asi was put off bf because of the fact i lived with my parents when i had ellie so i was embarresd at the thought of my dad or bro being in the room wiht me while i was doing it so it hink this will give mums the confidence they need to do it without feeling like they are exposing themselves

oh I missed this, I like the black one - def a fab idea!!
Im so not looking forward to breastfeeding but really want to give it ago, (iykwim) Im dreading BF in public and its that and the fact that I dont want to have to keep going upstairs to feed when we have visitors that is really putting me off, a wrap like this will give people like me a way to gain confidence without exposing myself and without feeling isolated and stuck in the house!

I think they are a fab idea, so good infact that I've just clicked on the link and bought the brown one! :clapping: . I couldn't decide between the black and brown but in the end decided on brown as I have some nice new brown tweed type trousers and also imo any colour matches with jeans. I agree that brastfeeding shouldn't be something to be ashamed of but I personally feel more comfy being 'less exposed' in public and my 4 week old baby is a bit of a wriggler at the mo, so thanks for the link, it's great  :D

I think they're a great idea for the modest mum, I personally wouldn't have felt like I needed one if I could've bf, but still they're fab, and very stylish too. I LOVE the pink one.

I'm obviously in a minority here & I can totally understand this idea & why everybody's so keen, but why not just feed in public in a discreet way?! There are ways of hoiking your top so your big white booby isn't there for the entire world to see. We don't need yet another product being sold to us when a bit of imagination can be used instead. Do we?

I guess everyone is different on how comfortable they feel with breastfeeding. Personally I would have been happier to have used something like this rather than lift my top up, particularly in colder weather!

i would have used one even for bottle feeding but thats just me - somewhere nice and snuggly, also then you dont get the "oh she doesnt breastfeed, poor baby" comments that i have been subjected to on a number of occasions!!!!!! Coz noone would know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes, and not only member of the public either, but health proffessionals and stuff. I got really fed up and in the end actually explained to someone that yes i did bottlefeed, but thats because i cant breastfeed due to the medication iu was on and thanked them for making me feel even more of a failuire as a mum than i felt already. So yes one of these would have been heaven.

A friend of mine called round just as i was trying it on and she was amazed when I told her what it was intended for, it looks very stylish on, like something you would wear as a fashion item really. It is 100% cotton but a stretchy thick tshirt type material iyswim. I'd def recommend it
