My dd auditioned this year - she was scared stiff. She has a good voice but not the X factor - didn't get through. There were loads of really good people at her audition who didn't either. .........and, no, we didn't see Simon, Sharon or Louis. But I will be watching too!:clapping:

Sarah

Well that's show biz I'm afraid, lots of disappointment. Sharon, Louis and Simon only get to see the contenstants that the producers pick out for them. They pick all the ones that they see - good and bad - after all they have to make sure it's good viewing don't they!
Well done your DD!

My sister auditioned the last couple of years, last year she made it through to sing for Simon, Sharon and Louis (there are 2 stages before you make it to them) she didn't get any further but she was happy and decided not to go for it this year.

I watched it and it is as fab as ever ! Aww, bless Sean, I was shouting at the tv when they were voting him through or not ! I wonder if he is too nervous to go through the process, I hope he finds the umph he needs !

That fella Jonathan was brilliant! I was glad when they said no to Sean - he would never have been able to cope with the live show with those nerves.

I thought the judges were all a bit mean laughing at the ones that couldn't sing .... did like it when Simon had to apologise to the granny for laughing at her dil though! .... and she said he wasn't good looking and didn't have his own teeth! (sorry, daffs!!!!!!!!!!).

Sean/shaun was really sweet, he does have a pleasant voice, but doubt he will get very far in the comp.

Looking forward to next week now!

I really enjoyed that, I thought it was so funny! Especially the one that dragged on, & they were showing calender pages flicking over & trees losing their leaves etc :D

It was a bit mean of them to laugh, but I still found it funny.

Girlzmum
20-08-2006, 10:58 PM
:blusingan SORRY!!!! I honestly thought Louis said no!!!! Can't believe it tbh, really don't think they've done him any favours - he'll not be ready to sing in front of a live audience and I think it'll kill any confidence he has.Better to tell him to go and work on his confidence and come back.

Not sure Colette - think it was only Simon that said "no" to him - and can understand why - think he said like a lamb to the wolves or something? I agree he may find it difficult - but it is also a brilliant opportunity for him. Good luck to him, is all I can say.

I think it will be good for the young lad - he obviously want's to sing more than anything or he wouldn't put himself through it. I thought he had a fantastic voice for a 16 year old and i hope he does well.

Edna made us laugh so much - almost in tears watching her lol

was soooo annoyed. my tv decided that it was going to have the most pants signal in the world EVER and it was all fuzzy and the sound kept going!!!! funny hjow friday night when i was out, dp said that the signal was fine!!!! must get him to sort out the sky this week while hes off!!!

stokey
21-08-2006, 08:37 AM
mixed feelings about the young lad going through, suppose it will do his confidence good, but Simon had a point about it being tough and him being fragile,

liked the lad whose mum was ill, but don't think he's quite got IT.

Same old, same old but still loved it - the granny annoyed me and felt that Simon should have told her off for giving her daughter in law false hope!! The daughter in law was awful and why oh why would you take your mother in law along for protection?!!

The little lad Sean will get nowhere but whose to say in a few years time, maybe getting through will just give him the encouragement for later on.

I liked Jonathan but I do hate the hard-luck stories and I can just see weeks of us finding out about his mother's illness - sorry, I sound a bit harsh but it's the voices we want to hear not their life stories.

I found bits of it quite sad like the 21 year old hairdresser with 2 kids who saw the X-factor as her chance to become famous - I think this is the problem with these programmes, some of them aren't doing it because they like singing, they see it as an opportunity to get famous, marry a footballer and have loads of money BUT the big problem is they can't bloomin' sing! I mean, what was that factory guy all about, the one who said he was as good as Michael Jackson! Excellent entertainment though!!:clapping:

What I can't believe is if they go through 2 rounds even before they get to see the panel, why do they put people through that can't sing? why waste the judges time and give faulse hope to people.....oh well it is funny though.

Think Sean/Shaun will do well in Sharons group.
