I have used it to make jewellery and loved it so much I went out to buy some to make more but my oven broke down so haven't had chance to use it at home. I'm desperate to use it though lol

Its great though you can also get stuff called Makin clay which air dries and you can do the same with it as you can fimo, it is lighter though so good for jewellery. I've done a couple of classes with it though I don't use it as a medium myself.

Hiya - Fimo - I love it!! Check out my website under "Karen's hand-made items" I make mostly jewellery with it but have made book-marks, hairclasps, door-chimes, name-plaques etc. It is great stuff to work with and every scrap can be used over & over again.

If you want any hints or advice then please pm or email me!

Watch out though, it is very addictive!!:D

You don't need special equipment as such - I do have cuting slices, a cheese slicer, some moulding tools but they don't break the bank and you can even use kitchen tools but once they have been used on polymer clay, I would suggest you don't return to them kitchen! The most expensive tool would probably be a pasta-maker........yes, you read right it it great for blending & conditioning the clay and makes it even throughout.

I have got Emma Ralph's two published books and they are really good for starting out with polymer clay.

The thing with it , there really is no right or wrong way to use it. The kids usually do something whilst I am doing it - I do obviously spend more time getting it right but they just mould away and it keeps them quiet for ages!
