well, i watched it last night. i was in tears!!!!
i thought that it was very well done. it wasnt glammed up or given the hollywood treatment at all.

think that it was more powerful because its a true stoy that affected so many people.

I have seen it.

We felt it was difficult to say if it was a good or bad film cos of the subject. While I was watching I found myself thinking...How do they know that this is what happened?? ,I don't think that they can say it all did.

I haven't seen it, but I'd be quite interested to see it, especially if it hasn't been sensationalised for Hollywood.

think that they were basing it more on speculation and the phone calls that the families received really.

cant say that i enjoyed it or not, just found it enthralling really. i do think however that they approached the subject sensitively.

Whats so bad about them making a film about it?

I don't know how true to life the film was but it made me feel a lot of respect for the people actually on that flight - they knew they were going to die yet they still did their best to overpower the terrorists and potentially saved a lot of lives

they made hundreds of films about titanic and other true distasters, so why is this one any different?

I just think it's wrong to make a film, and obviously a lot of money, out of something so awful. I obviously can't speak for the people who have lost friends/family in the attacks but I wouldn't think it was something they would want to see advertised everywhere and showing at the cinema.

I saw the big poster about it the other day and it made me go cold.

No offence meant to anyone who has seen it, just my honest opinion.

True, dunno. Maybe because it's still recent, or that because we are still being targetted by terrorists it's not the same as titanic or other disasters like that. I know you could say that about war films too, not sure why but it feels wrong to me.

it makes sense what you're saying angel1980. i think i heard somewhere that the profits are going to the charities that are generated by the attack, but i could be wrong.

Oh really? That would make it a bit different, but I'm sure they are going to make some money from it! Probably just me being me, but some things just don't feel right sometimes!

I believe the director actually interviewed a lot of the families of thoes who sadly died and got their blessings for the film

I think the main reason it feels so wrong is because it is still fresh in everyones mind, and the repercussions from that event are still happening to this day, if they give to charity then thats brilliant.......

But i have to agree , it makes me wonder exactly how much of it is true and how much is dramatized, guess we will never really know!!

i agree, i wasnt very keen on the idea at all tbh, think it is a little too raw atm, especially with the 7th July bombings last year and the ahut down of heathrow and the other airports yesterday. I also have a huge issue wioth them making money out of it. I also know what has been said about the comparison with titanic and war films, and i agree that if they can about those then why not this??
I dont know i think i am going to sit on the fence on this one tbh... not something i do very often!! LOL

I must say it's not a film that I HAD to see, we only watched it cos my sister had a copy. But after watching it I agree with Furbee, it was very well made, not at all sensational or overdone and sensitive to the families of the lost.

It is a thought provoking film so you have to be in the right mood to watch.
