HI

This is a bit of a rant, I used to have bt internet and then my pc packed up and it said was due to the bt hardware! I reall got frustrated and in the end just cancelled subscription! It worked I think for a week and then all my pc problems began and it's never been the same again!

Now my Dad against all advice has gone on to bt interent wireless and low and behold the pc started to pack up crash and all sorts! Guess what all due to new hardware! I know it's not the fact that my dad don't have enough memory cos it's had added extra etc and more than enough space.

Anyway I've been asking aruond and we are not the only two people to have this same problem! Has anyone else encountered this because, when i explained to BT it was the hardware they laughed in my face but two people same problem is a bit of a coincidence.

Anyway there we go just wondering! Maybe could start a petition and email to watch dog! LOL

sorry don't use bt internet but use AOL and that gets into every nook and cranny in your pc. I need to find another provider too.

I'm sorry you are having so much trouble and I hope you get it sorted

I'm with BT i have braodband and we've had a few problems lately. I found it difficult to get a person to help as well it was all automated. Mine's ok now but it took 4 hours on the phone last week to sort it out

Yes we had problems twice with BT.....we had our pc replaced twice....(as we paid a fee when we bought the pc to have it replaced, or fixed etc etc, needed three new hard drives and memory boards in one blummin year, we were told by three people this was due to BT getting in everything and allowing thngs through!)

And i agree with TanyaJane..we have aol broadband..and i hate it and them.... just don't like this you are fixed to us for 12 months business..grrrrrrr . I've been with AOL for 2 years then upgraded to broadband last April..now they say i have to stay with them until next April..grrrrr

Smirnoff tell us more about your provider please - if you don't mind!

I agree Shiraz, I hate AOL Broadband and the cost is ridiculous £24.99 a month or whatever it is, i have managed to lock myself in for another year until next March feel like I will never get away and their customer service is rubbish

Please Smirnoff tell us about your provider, are they expensive?

We aren't with BT but had probs with tiscali after we moved. We couldn't get online even though it was showing that we were. After numerous lengthy phonecalls to their support section someone finally admitted it was the fault of their servers not our pc/firewalls/router..etc.

After that was admitted it was then and still is a battle to get our money refunded and the account closed.Plus we had to change from IE cos Tiscali was stuck as the homepage.

I got a £90 refund from AOL and two months free....(the two moths free for my refund not being refunded) but they still wont let me leave without chargning me the remaining months...even though they refunded me a huge amount for all their crappiness!

Makes me wonder if you get this at some point with all ISP's.....

Seen lots of problems with BT and NTL when you're using the USB modems/connections. I did things my way with NTL using a network card and not letting their software anywhere near my machine and it works fine. Got a router and mini network now, far more fun)

Having said that, not everyone with BT/NTL have problems.

Are you on windows XP or windows 98? or somthing else.

Just read an email from "whatinvestment" and it refers to a Which report on ISPs - doesn't give much info, but fairly interesting ....
