i think i'd rather see the kids playing hopscotch than throwing the stones at peoples houses or robbing old ladies for loose change

it's hardly a crime is it, we did this all the time when we were kids and we didn't get told off

I agree with Andrea, I would rather see them playing hopscotch than breaking people windows etc

exactly,
i was in the park the other day. on the gate it says, no under 10's allowed (or something like that)...3 girls came in and were playing quietly, minding thier own business, they must have been about 14 i'd say, this elderly bloke walks past and says 'your not under 10, you shouldn't be in there'..i mean....
yeah ok, there was a sign up. but they were doing no harm..and i'd rather them play in the park, then go around causing trouble or getting themselves pregnant!..
they were speechless..i wish i'd said something...but i didn't!..
if they were causing trouble in the park then i'd have prob said something...but ...:hissyfit:

Oh now thats just ridiculous, what had they done? chalked a hopskotch board on the street! It'll wash off in the next rain!

The people who complained should be shot, and asked to leave the country!

As for the police claiming it's anti-social behaviour, for farks sake, it's kids playing!

They'll be charging them with "terrorist related activities" next and shooting them coz they had hoods and backpacks on!

DS chalks allsorts on the back street, roads, houses, allsorts, do I have to stop him now because it's "anti-social" behaviour!

If they tried that with my DS I'd challenge them to take it to court! make them look like fools.

This sort of crap from adults who hate kids, and that has to be what this is, really winds me up!

(you might have noticed :D )

Tanya

so why do shops sell pavement chalks then, they should put a warning on the label 'you musn't actually use these on the pavement unless you want an ASBO'

i'd rather chalk than spray paint

****, That's one of the most stupid, petty things I've ever read!

:angry-smi123

Absolutely, positively ridiculous

What next? Boys will be told not to climb trees, as it knocks the leaves off & makes a mess, or could lead to them becoming peeping toms?

How stupid, it is because it is easier for the police to pick on children doing something harmless than tackle the real problems.

my 3 dds did a lovely chalk mural on the wall last summer holidays and it is still there - guess my chalks should have had a warning that they were permanent markers lol

Th police were responding to a complaint, and there is probably these days a law somewhere that they can claim applies, don't blame them, blame the idiot who called 999 and said

"oh noes someone is playing the hopskotch in the street, help terrorists!!!111one one"

Because it's dumbass people like that that are the problem!

Rhianydd

Didn't read the whole thing and missed that someone had complained, but surely they could have had a word with the complainant and told them not to waste police time, surely there can't be a law that stops 'Hopsotch' and a bit of chalking. Having witnessed how the police drive past many incidents (rough council house area) I know they will ignore what they want to. Perhaps there was more to it than the report tells us, if not its ludicrous.
