I got a call from seek.net this is the 4th call in abut 3 months, now he is determined to get me inot the internet shoppers guide magazine and he deals over the phone, he wants a deposit you use your cred card, i asked him to post details, he aint having it, he is callin back at 3,30 and then i need to pay monthly instalments, even am not that daft, i just say oh hello yes heres my details of my cred card, so i emailed the compnay askin to confrim this phone call, but what you think??

No way would I give anyone credit card details like that. If he's so determined to get your business he'll send details by post.

Sounds a bit suss to me too, and is it worth the cost? Most people find web sites by search or word of mouth IMHO

Use the money to have your web site painted on your car for example, might be a better use of your cash. Or get into yell and such directories.

Thanks guys, i am going to get my dp to tell him to go awya and not bothe rme again, even if they do come back and confirm that one of their colleagues did call me, as nettys hubby said put the money to other good use, not that i have any in the first place, lol, i twould have been yet another debt anyhow.
We dont really need to pay for advertising do we?

I've occasionaly really lost it with telesales, screamed and shouted and sworn at them to stop ringing me etc. it's satisfying, but the idiots always ring back!

Sounds like he's being a bit pushy! I wouldn't pay to advertise with someone unless I knew they were a decent company like yell.com ... and if he doesn't want to put anything in writing then he's stupidly loosing potential customers!

Thank you guys, Darren got the clal and he could not get of the phone, so in the end he said he is not paying money to someone who cannot send her details in the post, also the money she has for advertising has been put to a better use for her site lol, well he had to put the phoen down in the end, and you kwno what, i have still never recieved a confirmation from that company that the call was legit!!
Sorry to hear this Maggie, hope you get them sorted out, tell them to go to hell.
