Just finished reading this, and I read the Da Vinci Code a few months ago.

I havn't really figured out if I like Dan Brown or not, I have to keep reading, and he writes well, but whenever his hero is confronted with suposedly impenatrable symbology problems DB leaves me feeling like I have been talked down to. I think he tries too hard to be clever, then dumbs it down!

There are twists which you sometimes dont see coming, but the really unexpected ones come from so way out they seem very artificial.

Overall though I enjoyed it, and as I mentioned, it really is a page turner.

Just started on Deception Point and because DB isn't trying to be so clever with this one with his symbology stuff I think it's going to turn out to be a better read.

I got The Da Vinci Code from a charity shop a couple of weeks ago because I want to see what all the fuss is about! I don't particularly 'want' to read it iykwim, but have to give it a go!
Let us know about Deception Point

I've enjoyed his books (Have read Deception Point, Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code) But he does have some outlandish plot twists and Langdon does get himself out of some insane situations - DB has some imagination!

That's what I was trying to say, thank you Colette, you've summed it up nicely, too many situations that are unbelievable and fixed too easily.

Still I did enjoy them so I'll keep going with Deception Point

I do think that this is my favourite of his books so far but I will be interested in seeing if he follows his same tried & tested formula for future books. If so I won't bother with any more

I loved this book, more than Da Vinci Code I think!

Deception Point is great too, I enjoyed all his books, just wish he'd bring some more out soon!

Like you I read the The Da Vinci Code and enjoyed it that much that I had to get the rest of his books and think they are all great
