Be honest, what do you all think of this wedding card I made ?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/fuzzy_wuzzy_bunnikins/weddingcard.jpg
you did say honest ?
In prinicable the idea is nice but it looks quite plain and i would choose something else above that one, can you use some other sort of paper for the cake nothing fancy but um its hard to describe but will try my best if the cake part of it was covered in a lace type thing that was either the same colour or just a shade or two darker or perhaps the paper that backs the cake was like that
If you can do something like that I think it could look quite stunning yet elegant

thanks for being honest Azzi, i had to quickly make this a few nights ago for a friend, the dark purple paper is pearlescent which doesn't show up too well on the photo.
I guess I'm more of an abstract card designer than a fancy one

its lovely, although i do agree the cake could look more 'fancy' iykwim..the edges are a bit too straight for my like if that makes sense.

I did wonder if the photo showed it to its best, it sounds better now you have said that as the pearlescent should give it more of a deeper look with the cake standing out quite nicely

I guess I could have used my fancy scissors to cut out the cake tiers

I really like it, it's quite simple but very effective. I've never seen one like it (not too sure about the top of the cake though - I think I might prefer to see a more 'delicate' heart). Great idea for a design though x

I think it's great, it is minimalist and it's lovely, it doesn't need anything else, please don't subject it to silly scissors, please throw them away lol. It is absolutely fine as it is, less is more and all that. Minimal cards always far out sell cluttered frilly ones and it's great.
Hope you didn't mind me saying all that lol

what about just curving the top corners of the cake? to make it a bit 'rounder'..not so square (oblong),,
at the end of the day though, it doesn't really matter what any of us think, we only gave an opinion cos you asked...im sure your friend will love it too :D..you made it with her in mind, and thats what she'll prob go for...well done
its a personal thing

not yet, I struggle to find enough time to sit down and make them, maybe on my week off (the week after next) I will try and make some more in between going away camping and visiting FIL in hospital in Newcastle

Hello!
I like the card and agree that it is worth experimenting with fancy scissors to cut the cake and rounding off the tops, as the design stands in the photo where you cant really see the texture of the paper i would say that you would need to add some detail to the cake, i like the lace idea that sound fab but im sure that with the paper you have the cake stands out lovely.
I think you have done a great job, well done xxx

I like the idea of that card, but not sure about the two colour background, also maybe need some wording on the front?
