what kind of sling whassat? Sure we can sort you out with something that doesn't hurt as much, or tweak what you have... I carried my nearly-5yo round Lidl the other day, I think the weight distribution was better cos she's longer and thinner than my 20mo thunderthighs...

Crikey my kids have to walk once they can walk, it would kill me to carry a 5 year round.

Good for you though. I could never get on with slings, they always hurt my back too much, think they are good for trips to the supermarket though, I used to think that as soon as I turned my back someone would nick mine in their car seats balanced across the trolley.

mine is comfy when they are newborn and face forward....but when they face the other way, im scared of them falling out, you know if i bend down etc...

I've a Ellaroo MT, Coorie and Ergo. The Ergo is good for my nearly 3yr old who is reluctant to walk when we need him to. He is also very good at TT's in public, easier to carry him

aha. princessjacs, I'm thinking if you're prone to a bad back you probably need something two-shouldered, a wrap or ABC, and whassat, carriers like that tend to carry the baby quite low down in front, which can put lots of strain on your shoulders, so something that either puts the baby higher up, again a wrap or mt can do this, as can pouches and ring-slings, or something that puts more of the weight on your waist/hips like the Ergo or Patapum might be good.

Dd3 walks most of the time, obviously, but it was just a good solution at the time when they both wanted to ride in the trolley! Stops her from running round going 'can we get this Mummy?' too, lol
