I have loads of Chick Lit books, authors like Jill Mansell, Fiona Walker etc etc. Anyone want to swap some?

The only chick lit I have in my collection are the "Shopaholic" series by Sophie Kinsella and also one other book entitled "Can You Keep a Secret?" also by her. I like to read funny chick lit. I'm willing to trade if you'd have my Michael Crichton collection. I have most of his books.

Any takers? Michael Crichton for chick lit! Oh, and I'm also collecting Jeffrey Archer ATM, so will go for that one too.

OK, just went to the shop yesterday and got it. Have not started on it yet though. Now don't you do anything funny like reveal the plot or anything  .

Blueberry, you'll love the book, if you're like me, you'll have it read already

I've just started, Bunny. I'm now at the part where Becky and Luke just touched English soil (or rather, tarmac  to put it in Becky's words) and caught her parents walking with a girl and now they're in her mom's kitchen recounting their "travelers' tales". Oooh, that Becky is hilarious isn't she? Did you read "Can You Keep a Secret?"? It's sooo romantic don't you think?... *contented sigh*

Well blueberry, I quite like micheal crichton, so does DH, but a) I have most of his books already and b) I don't have any chick lit!

(or Jerry Archer)

I am more your sci-fi/murder mystery/true science type of girl.

Sorry!

I'd love to swap too! My book rack is overflowing and new book rack purchases are put on hold until we move to our own place in 2007! I'll try to list down all my books over the weekend and then you can pick which ones you like so we can swap.

Grr having thought about it I think before we moved here at the end of last year that I had to throw away my maaaany books :( Was hoping to swap some :(

Then again since then we've bought a few more, like a Barry Trotter one (quite difficult to read as it's a parody of Harry Potter and it takes brain action to work it all out..well it did for me) - very funny though- and some kind of horse one that my hubby got the other month...who wants to read about horses???? I think maybe it's a crime thing that involves horses who knows but every time I pick it up I want to go to sleep hehe

I like all sorts, mostly funny ones, and it's looking as if after today even the cross stitching is out as it's too painful to do so I'll have to get a lot more books soon hehe

I kept those that I liked for my Mumszone friends :clapping: . Will get my butt moving and get them listed out soon. Watch this space :D .

Blueberry you read the shopaholic ones dont you? What sequence do they go in?

blueberry
08-06-2005, 07:22 AM
OK, they go something like this:

Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic / Confessions of a Shopaholic

Shopaholic Abroad / Shopaholic Takes Manhattan

Shopaholic Ties the Knot

Shopaholic and Sister

The one where you see two types of title is because we get two types here: one is published in the UK and the other is published in the US.

blueberry

Yeah, it's more fun and you'll understand the story better if you read them according to order.

Ravenfire

I read Shopaholic and Sister and thought it was quite good, not sure if I liked it as much as the others, thought the story was a little weak in parts.

I still have loads of chick lit books if anyones interested in swapping?

blueberry

Yeah, I thought her sister's change (at the end) is a bit too drastic :P . I think the most hilarious of the shopaholic series is "Tied the Knot", ya know, how she wiggles out of having two weddings at the same time... :hysterical3:

Raven, will post you my Citizen Girl book one of these days.
