Day off-no children!

Dh and I have our first day together without children for 16 and a half years! Ds1 doesn't count at 16, cos he can look after himself. Dh is a teacher, so when he's home the kids are home. But, this year, his school have done inset days as evenings, so he has finished 2 days before the children. We're borrowing ds3's boat we restored from a wreck and going down the river for a bit. Can't wait. Hope it's not too hot!

I'm back and I had a fab time. We motored off down the river and bits of Bristol that look manky from the road looked lovely from the water, which is lined by lots of willow trees and lilac. Had a go at steering and managed fine and rowing too-a bit splashy, but mostly went in the right direction. Had our picnic when we got back to Baltic Wharf and watched less experienced boaters with enormous sympathy-honest! :D
