i bought a swimming pool for ds today cos it was sooo hot. the only shop that had any near us (i don't drive) was Halfords. great pool. was £29.99 reduced to £19.99,
it was the only type they had left, but it is HUGE, far too big.
i've had it out this afternoon and started filling it up when i realised it would cost us fortune in water and cos our gargen is on a slope it was filling up at one end more than the other.
i don't want it!....i've drained what was in there and cleaned it up. ive not tried to squeeze it back in the box yet! :ac39:
what do i tell them when i take it back?
whats my chance of getting my money back do you think?
i can't see any returns info on thier website....grrrrr. dh is going to kill me lol
If you still have the receipt, the shop will probably take it back out of good will. Maybe you could say you didn't realise it was as big it was and was too big for your garden? Good luck and keep us all informed.

i agree with April, you could tell them that it wasnt suitable.
My experience with Halfords is that they are most unhelpful but it is worth a try....
If that branch dont accept it back you need to be very devious....
let me know and i will do it for you at the end of the month (but dont tell anyone!!!!!)

put a hole in the bottom and tell them that it was like that when you started filling it.(or dont put a hole in it and tell them it has incase they dont take it back)

Go with Apri's suggestion, the staff at the store should be OK about it, after all, it can be re-sold, and it doesn't affect their wage packet (hopefully)
Or claim it leaks, what are they going to do to prove it? fill it up in the store? (take a camera in case they do <G>)
But Apri's suggestion is the best one I think.

You are like me - hate hate hate taking things back for a refund!
Hi
So glad you got a refund, a few years ago, I went thru a stage of taking things back to the shop, sometimes it was just that i felt so bad for spending so much money or - cos I just didn't like it when I got it home or even seeing a similar item reduced in another shop which was better value for money.
Often though I would chicken out of going back to the same branch to return the item - but fortunately still got my money back most times - lol
