:ac39: when i was little my mum would always cut our hair and i went around for most of my childhood with the wonkiest fringe you could ever imagine...
anyway...
ive been growing my youngest daughters fringe out for months,it had got to just below her chin and i could pin it back and it was really nice,we have real issues with her hair so i was happy with how it was going..
so...
she has just stayed at my mums for 2 days...
want to see how she has come back.....

omg!!!.why????......what did she use? the garden shears!..what did your dd say?...what did your mother say?
i can imagine how annoyed you must be, it must have took ages to grow it out that long in the first place!...i mean if she really wanted it cut why didn't she get it done properly!.....omg sorry. i keep having to look at it..its not really as if you could make it all one length the short bits are sooooooooo short.im no hairdreser but i think even i'd be able to cut a straight line..i'd be furious too, gorgeous looking little girl though. xxx

That's grim, and your DD looks so sad in that picture. I feel so sorry for her, and you.
Do you think your mum will do this sort of thing again? or has she got the hint yet?

poor little thing, she looks sad in that picture, I can understand how mad you are, I can't believe she cut your dd's hair without even checking with you first

lindy
16-07-2006, 05:51 PM
Lol i think she looks sad because i forced her to come in and have her piccie taken!!she thinks she is gorgeous no matter what (and she is:wub:) my mum has been told if she ever touches my kids hair ever again, especially without my permission then we shall not be talking for a very long time:angry:

*hugs* it'll soon grow back, even if it means you having to tidy it up a little bit yourself
lindy

well im going to try but the thing is...India has refused to have her hair cut for months, she has sensory problems and her hair,so she says makes noises and it bothers her!!i dont know what in gods name my mum said to persuade her to cut it,i gave up trying months ago, hence the reasoning behind growing the fringe,il tidy it up if she will let me.

lindy

Oh i did rant at her,i dont think ive ever gone quite so mental at my mum ever!!my husband left the room i was shouting so loud,my mum thinks she knows best and if she thought indias hair needed cut then it wouldnt have entered her head that i didnt want it cut,she knows how difficult indy is over having her hair cut and i think she thought she was doing me a favour, she wont make the same mistake ever again,i dont think she would dare!!

If your DD is so awkward about having haircuts then maybe when your mum got her to agree she thought you'd be pleased as you said. I wish my MIL would persuade DS to have his cut, he just refuses at the moment.

she did and she was genuinally upset at how awful it had turned out,she knew she was in trouble,it could all have been avoided if she had just picked the phone up and asked me though!

good point, a quick "is it ok if" call would have worked wonders. Out of interest what would you have said to her if she'd made that call?

I would have gone mad too. My Mum interferes in lots of things but she would never ever cut my childrens hair. Can't believe she did it.
On the plus point it does show off your daughters beautiful face and fabulous eyes.

Dh did this to dd1 when she was about 2. The fringe started off about 5cm long on one side and graduated up to a measly 2cm on the other side. Terrible. Luckily, it grew out quickly. Fortunately your dd looks lovely anyway. I can't imagine how your mum managed to cut it so badly though!
