lol...our green bins were emptied today, just went to get mine back in and there was a sticker on there saying that its not been emptied cos it contained grey waste..
i had a look and there was a blooming nappy in there in a nappy sack...
i think ds might have put it in there. as i always take (throw) the nappies to the back door and they go straight out in the black bin, else they stink the place out,
he must have been only trying to help..
so anyway i phoned the council up to explain and can they come and empty it..he said it has been reported and yes they will empty it on this occasion but if it happens again it will have be investigated!!....OMG..i understand that it was naughty and not very nice if the sorters had got hold of it..but omg...there was some woman on the tele who had to go to court for putting potato peelings in her green bin, i think she got let off..
im not worried or anything cos i'll make sure it doesn't happen again. just a tad annoyed really...

That is ridiculous hun I can totally understand isn't this exactly what they are paid for?!?! I get totally annoyed at this... well done for phoning up, but seriously is there not more important things they should be 'investigating' and taking people to court for? What is this country coming to?! *hugs*

well done to you for complaining, these people need a good kick up the you know what sometimes

we had a similar problem with the cans and plastic bottle recycling bin, went to get it in one day and they hadn't emptied it because we had left a bottle top on one of the bottles, it's make me so mad

I changed to cloth nappies when we got our wheelie bin, I knew I wouldn't be able to fit 50 or 60 disposables a fortnight in the bin. Sooo glad I did it really bothers me all the thousands of disposable nappies that go into landfill every day.
My eldest daughter is 14 now and her nappies are still in a landfill site somewhere, it's horrible.
