The Ducks are here!!!!

We picked up the ducks last night from a lovely lady. Brought them home and let them out into their pen, at first they just sat in the corner looking a little worried, but as soon as we went in to the house (to watch out the window) they were all in the pond.

They then spent most of the night in the water.

The cat and the Bantams got their first look at the ducks this morning, the bantams were terrified at first and hid in their house, the cat just wants to get a closer look, he no danger to them though as he is scarred of Bantams.

They are now sleeping in the sun.

Yes, but you need to register and get a CPH number to be able to have pigs, goats etc.

Oh, they are lovely! How much space do you need to keep them? Have you got a very large pond?

The ducks run is about 4m x 4m Square, and their pond is 1m x 1.5 m and about 60cm deep. They also have access to the Bantams run which is 10m x 2 m. Both ducks and Banatms seem to like the Ducks run.

They are cheap, and great fun. They all have great characters.

Oh that is fab...

Dp wants to get a cockerel and some hens..and he LOVES BANTAMS...

We've got a few ducks at work ( i work in a hotel set on the banks of a river and next to a nature reserve) and they often wander in the front dorrs...and even come to my reception window now for left over crusts...pmsl!! They are such characters.

I'm just sick of all these pheasants and grouse that they breed around my house...anyway sorry! ....pmsl

Bantams are great and really don't need much space, being so small.
