A few of you know me, I think from my name you know who I am
Thought I'd better get a login as I seem to spend quite a bit of time here either by proxy through netty or (with permission) using netty's login.
Hope I don't get flooded with technical request now
Anyway, if you can put up with me, I'll be around.

It is - and always nice to have a guy's perspective on things - so long as you don't mention football!!!! :fryingpan:

Have to say, actually hate football usually but have been sucked in this time and can't wait for Saturday - anyway, I digress! Nice to have your dh on - wish I could persuade mine to join, he'd love it!

Ellie : Football, let me explain about football.
I returned to England when I was 8 having spent 5 years in Australia, I was found a place in a school where some famous LUFC players son also attended (The name Billy Bremner rings a bell)
First "sports" session was a 5 a side footy match, and no-one thought, it didn't even cross their minds, that someone who had lived in a foreign country for 5 years might, just possibly, not have the foggiest clue as to what the games was, let alone the rules. Once the game got underway someone asked me to pass the ball, so I did, I picked it up and handed it to him.
Of course the laughter and derision from my peer group was humiliating, and the experience put me off for life. A year or two later some football yob tried to pick a fight with me by challenging me to prove I was a Leeds supporter, of course I just told him I wasn't interested in football and ran away, but that, and all the football riots I saw on TV, left me with a profound desire never to get near a match in case I got caught up in all the fighting.
Now I am older, what little I've seen of "professional" footballers is a bunch of overpaid, cheating, whining idiots. It seems these days cheating, taking a dive or "professional" fouls, is all part of the game, what sort of role model is that for my children.
I intend to keep DS as far away from football as I can for as long as possible, so far it's working.
So Ellie, apart from this little rant I don't think I'll be mentioning football on here again. And now I have the washing up to do while Netty watches the second half, so I'd better go.
Does that set your mind at rest? :D

Sorry, nettys husband, didnt get the chance to reply to that - yes it does and no more conversation about footie from me! - (bear in mind I come from NI and have experiened more conflict than I care to think about so am happy to avoid it wherever I can!) By the way, maybe I missed it, do yuo have a name?

I do, call me Pete, or Peter or nettys_hubby, or anything not too insulting and I'll probably answer to it, I've worked in pubs and been called plenty, Michael, Phil and Paul seem very popular, maybe I look like those names more than mine, "hey you" usually gets you blanked though <G>.
Ellie

Well, Pete sounds good - have to ask, is that you in front of the tardis?

me? what makes you think it's me, me who got a sonic screwdriver from my dear wife for my 40th birthday! me who has a stack of Dr Who DVD's (and claim they're DS's) if it was the full pic you'd see DD picking her nose just in front of me, but I spared you all that (and now you are imagining far wrose than the pic itself <G>)
or in other words, yes

eastendersaddict, why duck and run? I love the new series as well, although Eccleston beats Tennant hands down, I'd go as far as to say Eccleston was my favourite Doctor. The old ones are (mostly) classic, but the new series are just "Fantastic"
