I don't know whether this would interest any of you who are looking for ideas to work at home around your children.

I came across a website, by chance, a couple of weeks ago about setting up a magazine or directory to deliver to homes in a local area on a monthly basis. The idea came from a SAHM who needed to find work for financial reasons but couldn't find anything that fitted round her children.

She set up a directory in her village and rang around local businesses to advertise at really reasonable rates. She could not believe the response and made a massive profit in her first month. She's been going for over 18 months now and still averages over £2000 a month in profits. She's also put together a pack for other parents to show them how to do the same and there are now over 200 people producing these directories in their own localities in the UK and a few in Ireland, too. She'll only sell a pack to one person in each area so there won't be any competition.

I decided to buy a pack last week and it arrived very quickly and it is packed with information on how to do this. My DH and I are going to do this together at first as he's had enough of his job, but he'll be taking over the directory as soon as possible because I'm also busy with my own business. It will also give me a great opportunity to promote my business every month to 1200 homes in my area for free!!

I can't wait to get our first mag out at the beginning of February.

Hopefully, this will help one or two of you who may be racking your brains for ideas. Even some of you who already have a WAHM business may find this useful, too as it doesn't take up much time after the first issue has been sent out. They estimate 8 - 10 hours a week.

If you would like to know the contact details for this mum and her website, just pm me.

Best wishes
