Hi there. We have a gorgeous 9 week old puppy, who is very used to being handled (kids around from the very start in her first home). She's quite a little character (king charles crossed with border terrier crossed with ???) and has just taken to growling when we pick her up. We knew she was part terrier so have been doing all the right things like eating before her, not having her on our knees too often, that sort of thing. Any ideas on this one? Would like to nip it in the bud before she gets out of hand!

not too sure really i know you can buy a clicker thing to train them as we had one when we had our boxer but other than that cant think of anything else but i hope you get it sorted xxxx
Make a doggy rattle (small plastic bottle with some gravel in it) shake it and said no not sure if it will work but its worth a try

could something be hurting her when you lift her?i have a 6 month old staffie and she makes a growley noise when she is happy, especially if she has a treat to show us,so it could just be a playful noise,if you think she is being aggresive, try a water spray bottle and spray her in the face when she growls at you,or try giving her a chocolate drop as you lift her so she links it with a treat.:luck:

Thanks everyone. Will experiment with some of your ideas. I think she's a bit of a madam and needs keeping in her place! xx
