Sorry to hear that people are so shallow.
Me, i'm not bothered. People look like people to me, don't care about colour, race etc etc. I used to have flamingo pink hair, then red and green stripey hair so i really am not fussed what people think. Get a lot of stares and stuff as i have tattoos, but if people are bored enough in their own lives to stare at me for entertainment then fine. F**k them, he's your son, who cares what they think. Let them stare, you and your hubby love him, so what else matters!!!!

Sorry for being so blunt and if i have offended you, but that side if people drives me mad.
People are all the same at the end of the day, we all have the same insides, hopes, dreams thoughts etc so why should the packaging matter!!!!

Hello, my son is mixed race too (i'm white). My boyfriend is white so we do look a little strange when we're all together, but I must say we haven't had any comments at all, maybe a few looks but I ignore them!
If all families were the same and looked the same it would be very boring, and people who stare etc are just ignorant, try not to let it bother you hun. ""cutey""b

a friend of mine is bi-racial and one of her kids is dark skinned with brown eyes and the other is blond with blue eyes. She gets a lot of strange looks but she knows that she is bigger than any bigots and rises above it

My eldest cousin is bi racial and I didn't know anything about it until after she got married, in fact none of her cousins knew until we were told by our parents. She simply looks tanned.

also some people may be looking at him cos he's gorgeous...i've found myself 'looking' at people but only because i like thier hair or something..and nearly been in a fight cos of it...but i think people do look...at anything...my dd has got a 'ear buddy' and it looks like her ear is covered in plaster (well it is)..but i think its just 'not knowing'...and people stare..i just wish they'd ask..or say what they are thinking..
just hold your head high. he's your son and you should be proud (which im sure you are anyway - even if he had two heads)... let them have a problem with it...live's too short..xx

My brother has friends that are twins (not identical), well both parents are white, 1 twin is white, the other twin is dark skinned, although not sure how that happened, and some people (they are 18 years old), dont believe they are twins, purely because of that........
It doesn't bother me, if people are nice to me, then i will return that kindness, whoever they are, black white, fat thin, tall, short, i have no problem,
My only advice to you is ignore them x x x

tbh my kids are white but very different.. eldest 2 have blonde hair adn brown eyes adn my youngest has blonde hair with piercing blue eyes.. i keep having comments like "do they have the same father??" So it is not just a biracial issue...
Be happy and proud of your child............
walking at 10 months is fine, my ds walked everywhere from 10 months onwards....

Same here. Our children are very different. Most are fair with straight blonde hair, but one takes after my dad with a tan and dark, curly hair. Often people can't help but ask if they're brothers or not. I can't think why, though-it doesn't occur to me to ask nosey questions of strangers.

I totally agree, I have the the same looks from people. My son is blonde with very bright blue eyes, (hair from dad eyes from mom) and my daughter has brown hair from me and brown eyes from dad. People do think that they have different dads as they look nothing like each other. My son looks like me and my daughter like her dad.
On a side note, my son started walking at 10 months too and walking around furniture from 8 months. My daughter not till 12 months, she wouldn't even crawl

If I ever look at a kid especially ones in prams when I'm at work it is becuase somthing has caught my eye - they have gorgeous coloured eyes, the hair and I always say something nice or if they are babies it is just that (though I am at the stage in my life where I ake a fuss and then walk)away.
One of the mothers from the toddler group madam went to had a black mother (likr the Cook Rusty Lee as I met her a few times and a white father) as did her partner and I never thought anything of it
It is just a few ignorant people who know no better

If I were youd id ignore the ignorant neverminds!!!!!It shouldnt matter what colour skin anyone has n its noones business if the parents are black, white or purple with red spots(ok not literally but you know what I mean).
It is funny with ds cos the only bit of me he got is my eyes n he looks the image of his bd but everyone says he looks like his stepdad."Doh" :cheesy:

Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy!!! :party05: And congratulations for having a 10-mo who's already walking around to cause chaos! :party05:
I think some people stare because it is a sight rarely seen by them (although it might not be so rare for some). It might also be because the person is unique or beautiful. I agree it is very impolite to stare (at least they should try to disguise it, like I always do  ) but sometimes people can't help. It's just curiosity. If it doesn't hurt then it's best to just ignore them, and walk tall.
Keep us updated on the --> :preggo: !

i totaly agree,
heres one for you then that gets people more than confused, my grandfather was malaysian/chineese, my grandmother is malaysian/indian sikh, my mother is more chinese, but has fair skin compared to my uncle, (family is west indian) i was born pale, but grew to have olive skin, an some indian looks, now heres the tricky bit, my father was spanish romany, and dh is romany, my son is darker than me, has beautiful big eyes which is from the indian side, my daughter, well shes as white as snow, with red hair, a flat nose and chinese eyes/asian eyes, my mum jokes and says they mixed up the babies in the hospital, and we have someone elses, because she does not look like "one of us" itms. but jessies twin (whos sadly passed away) was dark in complection, dark hair, the total opposite.
like with whats been said, if we all looked alike it would be a sad world, i like being a bertie basset family, everyone is even more so indervidual (sp).
don't worry about other people and their looks, next time be bold, and when they look say to them, isn't my child the most beautiful you have ever seen, they'll soon stop looking
oh and congrats on the :preggo: :positive:
