I want to have a go at making my little girl a dress, can anyone recommend anywhere to get patterns from, there dosnt seem to be anywhere near me that sells them, had a look on ebay but cant find much and not sure how much i should be paying for one.

A few department stores have them, Debenhams if they have a haberdashery and fabric section and I know that Alders do if you have one, our big one has closed down here. John Lewis definitiely do and you might get some odd independent places that sell fabric doing them too. You can also get them online, here is link to one place but if you put Dressmaking Patterns into Google it brings up loads.

we have a local shop that is fab for that kind of thing, they are also really helpful when faced with my total lack of competence they still try to help!!

I have also seen many pattern on etsy http://www.etsy.com, do a search on patterns, they have loads.
