I had been admitted into hospital with pre-eclampsia on the 15th July, i was 34+5. It was quite a worrying time for us as it was quite bad and they just wanted to keep baby in there for as long as possible. I was being monitored all the time and on drugs to keep the blood pressure down. I went for a scan the day after i got there and all was fine baby. So 10 days later i went for another scan just to check baby again. Well my fluid volume was extremly low. So they needed to be keep a eye on things. I couldnt wait to get my baby out. Was really worried about him. So 2 weeks later on the Thursday 29th 10:00 - 36+5 I was given the pessary to try and sofen my cervix and see if that got the contractions started. At this examination I was 1-2cm dialated. So little man had started to get things started for me already! Went off and had some food as I was told to eat as much as I can now just incase I couldnt eat later on. So went and stuffed my face! I was told to stay active as well. 3:00pm I started to get these pains in my back and my tummy was tensing up as well, so I thought this must be the start of the contractions, but I was told that it could start me off but the stop, so wasnt gettin my hopes up!! I was needing to go to the loo alot and emptying myself!! I knew that this was a sign too, but was prepared for a late night!! 3:30 I was going to the loo alot more now, and the pains were getting really painful and were coming about every 3-4mins. So I told the midwife and she said she would come back and examine me as I was due to have my next pessary at 4:00pm. Whilst I was waiting for her they were starting to become too painful and I wasnt copeing very well. So she examined me and put me on the heart monitor to listen to the baby. Whilst she was examining me she told me with all excitement that I was 2cm(thought to myself dont tell me that im in this much pain and I have only gone half cm!!! I was having a contraction and I felt it became very wet inbetween my legs. I asked her have my waters just broken? Well what water I still had left! at that point little mans heart rate dropped alot and I was told to lie on my side and they rushed me down to the labour ward as I was still up on the antenatal ward. I think i scared the hell out of the ladys that were still due to have their babies!!! 4:15pm I was down in the labour ward and baby was happier now and wasnt even concerened about me contracting thick and fast! So they were coming every 2mins now. It was 5:10. I was getting pain in my back and thats what was bothering me most of all. They had recomended that I had an epidural as it was lower my blood pressure for the delvery. So had a canular inserted and was waiting for the person to put it in, but I never met him in the end. I had the gas and air but I hated that and gave up on that! 6:45pm I was examined and I was 7cm so I thought to myself thats not too bad not long left now. So carryed on getting through each contraction. I had been on a heart rate monitor for baby throughout so I couldnt really have much mobility and stayed on the bed. 6:55pm I wanted to get off the bed by this point so off I hopped! Well that got things moving!! I then really felt like I needed to push!! Told the midwife who then told me I had to get back up on the bed and dont push! But I need to push I shouted!!! So she had a look and then told me that I was ready to push and with the next contraction to do so!!! So I pushed!! 45 mins later he was born at 7:46pm It was such a strange feeling to see him there, but such a wonderfull feeling as well. Kev cut the cord and he was taken to be checked over by the neonatal nurse as he was still classed as prem by 2 days. Gave him a little stimulation and wift of oxygen and wrapped up in a towel and passed to me. He was just so cute! So my gorgeous son Tyler Anthony Moore was born at 19:46 weighing 6lbs 3oz which was a really good weight for what had all gone on. Kev my partner was the best. I couldnt of done it without him. He kepted me going and rubbing my back was bliss!! I love him too bits. It was the first time I had seen Kev cry. He usually keeps his emotions in, but we have made him so happy and I love that. So were a happy little family now and I wouldnt change it for anything. My beautiful bundle is now not so small but still perfect!!!             |
